Les fleurs passés diminue
le monde,
Long temps la paix terres inhabitées:
Seur marchera par ciel, terre mer,& onde
Puis de nouueau les guerres suscitées.
Translation
The scourges passed the world shrinks,
For a long time peace and unpopulated lands.
One will travel safely by air, land, sea and wave,
Then the wars stirred up anew.
Van
Berkel categorizes this quatrain as a millennium
quatrain.
The
first line. The "scourges" are a reference to Revelations 6,
where seven seals are broken and numerous disasters occur. The
"shrinking of the world" matches with Revelations 8,1 and
next, where it reads that because of numerous disasters one third of the
entire creation will be destroyed.
The second line. The "long time of peace" is the biblical
kingdom of one thousand years, as described in Revelations 20.
Nostradamus writes to Henry II that one of the features of this kingdom
is a general peace between God and humanity.
The fourth line matches with Revelations 20,7-10. Satan is released for
a short period and will fight his last war with the heavenly armies.
Nostradamus writes in his letter to Henry II also about the release of
Satan. The investigation, on which Nostradamus,
astrology and the Bible
is based, has shown that that this war will occur from November 9, 3797,
until April 25, 3827.

does not date this quatrain, neither does he give comment on its
