Die Nostradamus-Propaganda der Nazis, 1939-1942

URL:

http://www.nostradamus-online.de

Author:

Ulrich Maichle

Language:

German

Online since:

March 2006

Features:

On this website, Ulrich Maichle presents his private E-book Das verschmäte Erbe der Renaissance, a revised edition of Die verlorene Welt der Planetenengel & Die Prophezeiungen des Michel Nostradamus (Berlin, 2004), and the results of his research on the way in which the Nazi's used the Centuries for psychological warfare. Maichle did extensive archive research (Bundesarchiv, Auswärtigen Amt), literature research and analyzed propaganda material.
In the Berlin State Library for example, Maichle discovered a copy of a Dutch national-socialist booklet about Nostradamus, which carried the author's name A. de Tombre. However, according to a note in this booklet, made in the early '40's, it was written by a certain dr. Alexander Centgraf, who gave it to the former Prussian State Library. After World War II, Centgraf kept on publishing about the Centuries, using the pseudonym dr. N. Alexander Centurio. His book Die großen Weissagungen des Nostradamus, published in 1977, is still available and quite popular.
Maichle's website also contains transcripts of national-socialist documents regarding the production of national-socialist propaganda, based upon the Centuries.
